Description
Grilled or air fried spicy Bang Bang Chicken Skewers seasoned and coated in a sweet, tangy, and slightly spicy bang bang sauce, cooked to juicy perfection.
Ingredients
- 1½–2 lbs chicken thighs, cubed into 1-inch pieces
- 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp hot honey (optional)
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 2 Tbsp fresh lime juice
- â…” cup Thai sweet chili sauce
- ¼ cup Sriracha
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine the cubed chicken, olive oil, and seasonings. Toss until evenly coated.
2. Thread the chicken onto soaked wooden skewers, filling about ½ to ¾ of each skewer.
3. In a medium bowl, mix mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and lime juice until smooth to make the bang bang sauce.
4. Divide the sauce in half, reserving one portion for serving later.
5. Place skewers on a baking sheet and brush generously with the remaining sauce.
6. For grilling: Cook over medium-high heat for 15–20 minutes, turning frequently and brushing with sauce until caramelized and internal temperature reaches 165°F.
7. For air frying: Cook at 400°F for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway, until chicken reaches 165°F.
8. Transfer cooked skewers to a plate and drizzle with reserved sauce and hot honey if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
Boneless, skinless chicken breasts can be substituted for thighs.
Hot honey adds extra sweetness and heat but can be replaced with regular honey or omitted.
For a milder version, omit cayenne, reduce Sriracha, and skip hot honey.
Soak wooden skewers in water before use to prevent burning.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Reheat in an air fryer at 350°F for about 3 minutes or microwave carefully to avoid overcooking.
