Description
Savory BBQ chicken skewers marinated in a sweet and smoky barbecue rub with beer, then grilled to juicy perfection.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken tenders
- Wooden skewers, soaked in water for 20 minutes
- 3 to 4 tablespoons honey BBQ dry rub
- 1 cup beer
Instructions
1. Thread chicken tenders onto soaked wooden skewers and place in a large dish.
2. In a bowl, whisk together BBQ dry rub and beer until combined.
3. Reserve 1/3 cup of marinade, then brush remaining marinade over chicken skewers.
4. Refrigerate skewers for 30 minutes to marinate.
5. Preheat a charcoal or gas grill and place skewers over direct heat.
6. Sear chicken for about 1 minute per side, turning once.
7. Brush with reserved marinade, close grill lid, and cook for 5 minutes.
8. Turn skewers, brush again, and cook another 5 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
9. Remove from grill and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
You can use more than 2 pounds of chicken since the marinade yields extra.
KC Masterpiece Sweet Honey BBQ Rub works especially well for flavor.
Always soak wooden skewers to prevent burning.
Letting the chicken rest helps retain juices.
