Description

Indulge in a restaurant-quality meal at home with this Creamy Cajun Steak Penne Pasta. This dish perfectly balances the rustic, bold intensity of Cajun-spiced tender sirloin steak with a decadent, velvet-smooth cream sauce. Featuring a blend of mozzarella, parmesan, and cream cheese, the sauce clings beautifully to each ridge of the penne pasta. It is a hearty, comforting, and crowd-pleasing one-skillet style meal that is surprisingly easy to prepare on any busy weeknight.

Ingredients

Scale

1.25 lbs sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized strips
12 oz penne pasta
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
4 oz cream cheese, softened

Instructions

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the penne pasta according to package directions until al dente.
While the pasta cooks, toss the steak strips with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the steak strips until browned and cooked to desired doneness, then remove from the pan and set aside.
In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant.
Reduce heat to medium and pour in the heavy cream and whole milk, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
Whisk in the cream cheese until smooth, then stir in the mozzarella and Parmesan until the sauce is melted and creamy.
Add the cooked pasta and seared steak back into the skillet with the sauce.
Toss everything together until well coated and heated through.

Notes

Adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning based on your preference for heat. You can add extra vegetables like bell peppers or spinach for more nutrition. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
