Description

Easy English Pea Salad is a quick, creamy, and flavorful side dish made with tender peas, cheddar cheese, and a tangy dressing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ¾ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 13–16 oz frozen peas, thawed and drained
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup red onion, chopped
  • ¼ cup real bacon bits

Instructions

1. Thaw the peas in a colander by running cold water over them or allow them to thaw slightly while preparing the other ingredients.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper until well combined.

3. Add the peas, cheddar cheese, red onion, and bacon bits to the bowl and mix well.

4. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

The creamy dressing will thicken as it chills.

Frozen peas work best and should be slightly thawed before mixing.

You can run cold water over peas in a colander to speed up thawing if needed.
