Description
Baked BBQ Chicken Breasts are simple, juicy, and flavorful, made with a handful of ingredients and ready in about 30 minutes.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 2 pounds)
- 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika or chili powder
- Optional: fresh minced parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 450°F and lightly pound chicken breasts to even thickness.
2. Spread about 1/2 cup barbecue sauce in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
3. In a small bowl, mix salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Season both sides of the chicken and rub in.
4. Arrange chicken in the baking dish without overlapping.
5. Brush remaining barbecue sauce over the chicken to coat.
6. Bake for 15 minutes until juices run clear or internal temperature reaches 160°F, basting ერთხელ halfway through.
7. Turn broiler to high and broil on the top rack for about 5 minutes until sauce caramelizes, watching closely.
8. Remove from oven, cover with foil, and rest for 5–10 minutes.
9. Garnish with parsley if desired and serve hot with extra sauce spooned over.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2–3 days.
Reheat in the microwave or use in salads, sandwiches, or wraps.
To freeze, cool completely and store in freezer bags for up to 6 months. Thaw in the refrigerator before reheating.
