Ingredients
1 pound lean ground beef
1 pound ground chuck
2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
2 (15 ounce) cans diced tomatoes, drained
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1 small white onion, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
5–6 tablespoons chili powder
1.5 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon minced garlic
0.75 teaspoon dried oregano
0.5 teaspoon granulated sugar
0.125 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the lean ground beef and ground chuck to the skillet.
Brown the meat thoroughly, breaking it into small crumbles with a wooden spoon until no pink remains.
Drain the excess fat from the skillet carefully.
Transfer the browned meat into the slow cooker.
Add the tomato sauce, drained diced tomatoes, tomato paste, diced onion, and diced green bell pepper to the slow cooker.
Stir in the chili powder, cumin, minced garlic, dried oregano, sugar, cayenne pepper, and salt and pepper.
Mix all ingredients until well combined.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
